Gah, I've wanted to try this one for a while...

Lynxia Lost stood with her back to them. If they saw her face they would know. She felt the symbols beat with her heart.  She felt the power in her own blood. She felt strong.
Nix reached out a hand and turned her round. He gasped and everyone else followed. They could see it in her eyes. The normal white had turned to shining silver.
       "Lynxia?" Nix asked.
She laughed. "Need I go by that name any more?" her voice was strong and clear. Cutting and sharpening each word. "My name is Elaisse." When she said the name, she felt power surge to her body. Unlocking all that had been locked. Freeing all that had been prisoner. She rose from the ground, shadows swirling around her. She looked down on her friends and the mortals in the town square. The shadows sharpened round her and came raining down. Attack after attack after attack.
She laughed again, enjoying her new power.
       [Carry on from here.]

By the way - Everyone means everyone from One For You, Two For Me... Including Lav and Star (who haven't made their appearance yet) and Sheldon, simply because he's a funny character.

  1. "Why is it..." Zathract Mist muttered, crashing to the ground and rolling on the road in order to dodge another sharpened swipe of shadows that had been sent flying at him carelessly by the powerful aura that was now surrounding Lynxia. "That something bad happens when one of us finds out our True Name?"
He leaped up and made a fist with his gloved hand which caused shadows to explode into life around him which were used to counter another powerful swipe that came form Lynxia. Yes, he was still going to refer to her as Lynxia. Perhaps she wasn't herself anymore, perhaps she was. Power made people change after all. He knew that.
"Crucify-" he ducked under a swipe of shadows.
"Nagier-" Zathract leaped over a second hurling towards him.
"Elaisse-" he snapped his palms against a large tendril now speeding towards him and the displaced air did nothing to slow it, let alone stop it.

"...Crap." the tendril hit Zathract hard in the stomach and even as he was flying through the air from the force of the attack, he doubled over and curled up once he landed on the hard road as starts burst in his vision.
Zathract remained on the hard ground for a moment, curled up in a ball, eyes tightly shut, trying to block out the pain in his stomach.
"Arh, forget this." he muttered darkly as he climbed to his feet. Some twenty metres in front of him, Zathract saw his allies all getting hit hard with more shadow attacks send flying from Lynxia's intense aura, the attacks that occasionally exploded from movements she made placing devastating injuries on those receiving them.

The only person not battling her was Nixion. He was simply standing there, letting the attacks hit him wherever they hit him, staggering back when the pain became too much, but otherwise looking into what he could see of Lynxia that wasn't obscured by dark shadows. Through the dark and tormented look he had always seen on his face after all the years, Zathract saw another emotion, so much more powerful than the previous torment. It was pain.

Zathract leaped forward, weaved around another tendril and re-engaged in the battle. Sparky was on her knees supporting an unconscious Lavender. Eve was staggering around, barely awake anymore, a steady stream of blood running from her temple. Robin had just doubled over as a tendril recoiled from her stomach. And Nixion stood, still gazing at Lynxia in terrible pain.
And then she grinned and and Zathract knew what would happen a moment before it did. A swipe from her hand send a dozen shards of darkness hurling towards Nixion who did not even raise a finger to defend himself. Zathract launched himself forwards. His arm hit Nixion's chest hard and even as his friend hit the ground, safe, Zathract knew it wouldn't be as easy for him. One shard penetration his stomach, another in his left shoulder and the others soared past him.
As Zathract staggered back, wounded, blood pouring from his wounds, a darkness rose inside of him. Mist collapsed onto the ground as another figure rose up from behind him.

    Nagier entered the scene.

  2. Whoops. Forgot the Crucify isn't Sparky's True Name. Ignore that bit.

    "Lynxia?" Nix asked.
She laughed. "Need I go by that name any more?" her voice was strong and clear. Cutting and sharpening each word. "My name is Elaisee." When she said the name, she felt power surge to her body.
Nixion tried to reach for her but he was thrown back. Sparky raised her hand, electricity crackling. Elaisee waved her arm and shadows smashed into her, flinging her out of sight. Flame roared and ran after her. Sheldon took one fearful look at Elaisee and teleported away. Mist cursed and drew his knifes. Eve lowered her centre of gravity, making it harder to knock her over. Lavender drew an arrow and launched it at Elaisee. The shadows sliced it in half and laughter filled the air, laughter of someone who knew that they couldn’t lose. New screams cut through the and everyone spun around just in time to see Star running as a building collapsed right on top of her, the screams stopping suddenly. Lavender ran as another building fell down, narrowly missing her. She notched another arrow, but shadows crashed down on her, killing Lavender Hope. Mist and Eve looked and one another, and embraced as the shadows ripped them apart.
“Stop.” Elaisee turned and saw Nixion standing there, a huge gap in his side. The wound was fatal.
“Lynxia, please stop,” Nixion begged, his face full of pain. Not only pain from his wound, but pain from what was going on around him.
Elaisee reached out and touched his face gingerly. She seemed to have actual sadness on her face, but a moment later it was replaced by an evil grin. Shadows covered her and Nixion only had time to widen his eyes before she ripped his throat out. Nixion took a few steps backwards and fell to his knees. He tried to gurgle something, but there was no way he could. Five seconds later, he dropped onto his face, dead.
Inside Elaisee’s mind, the part of what was left of Lynxia, screamed. But that part was weak, nothing compared to Elaisee. She continued to kill everyone in sight, drinking in their death, destroying everything in her path.

  4. 'No.' I breath, doubling back. No, no, no. This cannot be happening. Not Lynxia, anyone but Lynxia. I watch her attacking, carefully looking for a pattern and finding none.
'This bites.' I murmur. All those years of training. All those years of fighting. Even my work. None of that was going to help me in this situation. Not against someone with that much magic. Realisation spreads across my face. Magic. That's it! I grab Sheldon.
'Do you remember where the Australian Sanctuary is?' I ask. He nods, face filled with fear and teleports us away.

We appear outside the Australian Sanctuary.
'Follow me.' I order, already sprinting in. The officials see me running past and gasp. No wonder. I'm covered in blood and muck. I sprint to the holding cells and Sheldon runs up behind me. I turn to him.
'We go back, I try my best to weaken Lynx and the second you see and opening, teleport her here, shove her into a cell and shut the door. Can you do it?' I ask. He nods. Excellent, I hold my wrist out, thinking that he got the good end of this deal.

We appear in a small patches of trees behind the war zone. Even in the forty or so seconds that we were away for, Eve, Zath and Ink have been murdered. A pit of cold begins to spread from my stomach.
'Fight now, mourn later.' I whisper to myself. My hands are shaking. I blur behind Lynxia, knowing that there's no point in using any magic. Brute force is the only chance. I throw my Makhaira to the side, thinking that having sharp things around her isn't a good idea. I jump just behind her and flying-tackle into her. She crashes forwards, rolls and looks up at me. I'm holding onto her wrist, preventing her from manipulating the shadows. I shock her. She laughs, as though it tickles.
'LYNXIA!!! SNAP OUT OF IT, I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE!' I shout. Tears start rolling down my cheeks. For a moment- I'm sure of it- her irises turn white. but the moment passes and they are silver again. She throws me off of her and as I'm flying through the air I feel a shard of shadow penetrate my right lung. The shadow remains solid and stays inside my chest. I fly into a tree, the shadow holding me up.
Now Sheldon! This is your only chance!'
I look to his hiding stop. He vanishes. I look back at Lynxia. He hasn't come back. My vision clouds.
    No...

  6. I wasn't going to fight. That was for sure. All I wanted to do was hide with everyone. I just wanted everyone to be safe for a little longer. I didnt want anyone to die. I didn't want to hurt Lynxia. I didn't want Lynxia to hurt anyone.

I screamed out to Mist, but he was so engulfed in the battle, he didn't notice.

I tried to get Nix's attention, but he didn't seem to hear me.

Sparky, Lav, Star, Val, no one would listen to me.

    I couldn't leave them.

    I couldn't.

I saw Mist and limped towards him. Every step was agony, because...I looked down at my leg. It was covered in blood. I stumbled the rest of the way and lurched into Mist. I screamed at him, begged him to stop fighting, to go somewhere safe with me, but he just looked at me and said something I didn't hear. I realised I was crying. Then Mist shouted suddenly, at me, an urgent shout of warning.

I didn't even have time to turn around.

Octaboona sighed. Yet another person had discovered the power of their true name. It was getting rather tedious. And they always semed to use their power for evil. He supposed it must be the shock of it all. Octaboona slowly approached the girl who used to be Lynxia and looked calmly but cautiously up at her.
He closed his eyes and waited for the purple glow to envelop his mind. And then he started to speak. Words of beauty and sorrow and loss. Of impossible places and people and power. And as the words weaved themselves into a poem recited in a beautiful melody, Elaisse looked on with boredom and sent a jagged spear of shadow through Octaboona's head. At least she tried to. Octaboona ignored the shadow as it swerved around him and continued with his poem.
He continued to stare at her.
"Not affected yet? How odd. They usually succumb by now."
Elaisse looked on, mildy curious that he wasn't dead.
"The hope? The love? The wondrous joy of it all? You don't feel it?"
He sighed. "I mean to say its won two Nebula's and the Booker Award".
"You're soul should be putty in my hands by now".
Octaboona closed his eyes and a grimace of pain twisted his face briefly.
"I was hoping to turn you into a harmless little lamb of a person by now. It appears I have no choice."
He uttered a word. His own true name.
And then everyone around him fell to the ground. Dead.

  8. How sweet that you would go on a murderous rampage. I should have tied you to Cthulhu before I allowed myself to kick the bucket.

  9. Ivy dodged a shadow that was sent flying her way. She darted away from each shard as if she were doing a crazy dance, and she slowly made her way towards Lynxia, who seemed to be having fun with her new powers and attempting to murder her 'friends'.

"Hey Lynxia!" Ivy shouted, but she was ignored. She rolled her eyes and tried again. "Hey Elaisse!"

Lynxia whirled around and tried to whip a shadow at Ivy in an attempt to slice her in half, but Ivy dodged it quickly.

Ivy laughed. "You can't get me, Lynxia, because I'm just that amazing. Either way, I wanted to get your attention because," she paused as she spun out of the path of a shadow, "you are stealing my job."

Lynxia stopped sending shadows her way for a moment, so that she could laugh. "Oh, and what's your job again? Killing people? I'm sorry, but it looks like you've just been fired."

Ivy pretended to look offended. "Fired? Hmm, well, that sure wouldn't be fun. Not one bit. But I have to tell you that you're wrong, I'm afraid. It's you who's going to be fired, if anyone."

"Oh yeah? And how do you plan to manage that?" Lynxia asked, then suddenly frowned, starting to realise what was going on.

"How do I manage that? By tricking you into letting me talk," Ivy said with a smile. She nodded behind Lynxia. "I think it's time to give the order, so... Now!"

Everyone - or at least everyone who could - had come up to Lynxia while she was speaking. Lynixa tried to turn around but the sheer speed from everyone prevented her from turning completely before she was attacked.

Ivy couldn't tell how long it was taking, but she finally decided that they had put in enough effort. Ivy teleported right behind Lynxia, and immediately everyone else took a step back. Lynixa turned around just as Ivy's fist collided with her face.

As Lynxia was falling into unconsciousness, she saw Ivy step into her vision and bend down so that Lynxia could see her face.

"Say bye to all that power for now," Ivy said with a smile that seemed to be seeping with evil. "Oh, and one more thing before you black out. You're fired."

And suddenly darkness clouded Lynxia's vision and everything went silent.
